Child Psychiatrist

Doctors Direct* have an exciting opportunity for a *Psychiatrist Consultant *to work with us at *Barnet, West CAHMS *in *Child and Adolescent neurodevelopmental, Psychiatry.*
We are looking for a doctor dedicated to, and passionate about, improving health and wellbeing within the Edgeware Community on the ward in outpatient services.
*Diagnose a range of neurodevelopmental disorders such as ASD, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and Tourette’s syndrome, often alongside co-occurring mental health issues (e.g., Formulation and Treatment Planning:
* cognitive-behavioural therapy, family therapy).
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (e.g., psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists) to ensure holistic care for the child and family.
* Work with children with complex needs, which may include challenging behaviour’s, severe autism, or comorbid psychiatric conditions.
* Offer guidance to families and caregivers, helping them understand the child's diagnosis, treatment options, and how to support their child’s development.
* Provide expert advice to external agencies on managing children with NDDs in various contexts (e.g., school, community).
* Ensure that treatment is evidence-based, regularly reviewed, and tailored to the child’s changing needs.
* Risk Assessment:
* Carry out risk assessments for children with self-harm tendencies, aggressive behaviour, or other risky behaviours.

* *Days per week:* Monday - Friday 9am -5pm - Remote working: one day per week only
* *Start date*: ASAP
* *Essential special training: PAYE *we do NOT facilitate payment through LTD/umbrella companies
