Tree Planter and Project Site Assistant

We are currently seeking volunteers for various positions on tree and hedgerow planting projects across the United Kingdom.

These positions are voluntary and temporary. If you know of anyone else who might be interested in helping on one of our projects. Please pass this on to them.

Positions are open to people of all abilities and ages as there are many ways in which you can help.

Applicants need to be enthusiastic, motivated, have a desire to learn new skills, build friendships, have plenty of stamina, enjoy the outdoors and having fun.

Although the roles vary, as the projects are outside, you must be willing to work in all weather conditions.

Be from communities across the project areas or someone who would like to get involved in helping the communities on one or more of the locations.

Applicants must work well with others as part of a team.

Be flexible on dates. Timings will vary from project to project.

Locations currently include, Warwickshire, 2 x Lincolnshire, Wales and Outer Hebrides.

We will all be creating a lasting legacy, of which you can be proud of, creating habitat for wildlife, biodiversity and cleaner air for future generations to come.

We will be taking photographs and filming for our website and social media platforms.

Responsibilities

First Positions

The prime roles are the careful planting of trees and hedgerows to the required specifications. For those roles you

must be physically able as terrain can be uneven and will involve digging.

Second Positions

We will also need people to help for example, with refreshments and registering people on and off site. This would

suit those of more limited mobility.

Additional Positions

Drone/camera operator

Drone mapping

Suitable clothing and footwear is essential.

Ongoing maintenance and monitoring will be required in some instances.

These are community projects so we will be working with and for the benefit of the communities.

Qualifications

No specific experience is required as training will be provided.

For health and safety all instructions must be followed.

If you have been involved in community projects or have any experience in this field, it would be an advantage, as would a love of nature.

We must be respectful of the landowners and of each other.

We value our workers and want everyone to feel inclusive and help one another.

Medical training/first aid would be an advantage.

Transport to and from locations is required. We do encourage car sharing and public transport where possible.
