Our social clubs and activities are an integral part of the support that we offer to our veterans in the community. These social clubs can support our members to feel less isolated. Our Lead Volunteers will play an important part in supporting and coordinating the clubs so that they run smoothly. They will become the lead on either a particular club/activity on a regular basis and/or will be assisting the community team in establishing new groups and activities, supporting other volunteers to feel confident in the regular running of the group by them going forward. They will support to ensure that a great time is had by all

Volunteers must be over the age of 18 years, you will be fully trained and supported so you feel comfortable and confident in your volunteering role with us.

We are looking for volunteers who are comfortable taking the lead on organising and coordinating activities for our members in the community. Supported by the community team you may be required to help establish local groups and activities with a view to supporting other volunteers to take over. Alternatively we may need you to take over an already established group. You will need to be confident in engaging with members and volunteers from a wide variety of diverse backgrounds.

Whether it's helping out with organising menus for our lunch clubs, member travel arrangements or ensuring members are feeling included in activities our Lead Volunteers will play an integral part in making sure our veterans get the most from the activities.

What you will be doing
  • Helping with a variety of activities which could include supporting to set up and/or coordinating lunch clubs and community based activities for our members.
  • Communicating with members and ensuring that they have everything they need to engage and enjoy the activities.
  • Communicating with other volunteers and staff.
