We are searching for a Safe Guarding officer to join a dynamic team starting September 30th 2024. This is a permanent contract with an annual salary which can be negotiated at interview.

The Safeguarding Lead will serve as the initial contact for staff regarding all Safeguarding matters at Ickburgh School. They will be guided by the Executive Safeguarding Lead (currently the Deputy Headteacher) in overseeing and managing safeguarding and child protection practices, ensuring the well-being of all students. Their responsibilities include coordinating social care referrals, contributing reports to relevant meetings, and maintaining detailed records of actions taken. Collaborating with the Executive Safeguarding Lead, they will provide training to school staff and update policies, procedures, and guidelines as needed.
Address safeguarding concerns promptly to ensure student safety.Engage proactively with parents, carers, and external agencies to safeguard children.Report all safeguarding concerns to the Executive Safeguarding Lead to maintain oversight of safeguarding within the school.Implement and uphold Ickburgh School's child protection policies and procedures.Advocate for the child protection policy and procedures to promote good practices.Respond appropriately to disclosures or concerns related to child well-being, alerting the Executive Safeguarding Lead and Headteacher.Maintain accurate, confidential records on safeguarding cases and provide reports as necessary.Collaborate with families in the community to prevent harm to children.Lead and organize Team Around the Child/Family meetings when required.Compile data for Governors and the Local Safeguarding Children's Board.Assist in planning and conducting safeguarding training, including attending conferences and meetings.Contribute to risk assessments and multi-agency approaches to child protection.Uphold confidentiality during safeguarding processes.Experience in Child Protection with relevant qualifications.Willingness to engage in further training.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and meeting coordination.Commitment to equal opportunities, diversity, and safeguarding awareness.Personal Qualities:
