As a Medical Science Liaison you will be responsible for providing medical and scientific support regarding AstraZeneca’s (AZ’s) marketed products and compounds in development to a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to the organization. Your responsibilities will also include engaging in-depth medical and scientific product or disease area discussions, and presentations in a non-promotional scientific context

Implement and disseminate high quality medical and scientific education in the field – to give clinical and scientific presentations at sites and to key external audience including local decision makers and budget holders – in co-operation with local marketing, sales, and hospital management functions.
Provide accurate medical/therapeutic area/product advice and information to internal and external customers for specified products/therapeutic areas (ta)
Provide scientific and clinical input into key commercial initiatives - participation in all activities of relevant cross-functional team(s) including participation in preparation of relevant parts of marketing and brand plans
Prepare medical programs//local territory medical tactics as part of strategic/operational/cycle marketing and medical plans and ensure implementation of it in the field
Provide medical support of pre-launch activities of new ta development/licensed in specified ta in cooperation with hta/market access/ra and marketing department
ensure medical contribution and consultancy to hta manager on business opportunities analyses, health economy trials and models, outcome research, and comparative effectiveness research
Assist and advise the marketing department in the preparation of promotional and training materials; support sales & marketing training as a product/area expert in training sessions
Deliver targeted internal training - to ensure preparation, execution and testing of medical education for relevant marketing & sales functions by himself/external consultants
Ensure consultancy and support for key external customers and marketing & sales departments in medical objections handling process for specified products/ta
Ensure medical and ethical integrity, excellence and compliance of all activities within given therapeutic area (for the detailed responsibility in capacity of nominated signatory – see separate functional job descriptions)
Provide support to medical information, regulatory affairs and patient safety (particularly in handling of unsolicited/off label requests, smpc/api review process, risk management plans creation) in assigned therapeutic areas/products
Keep up-to date knowledge in relevant areas of clinical and theoretical medicine by continuously reviewing relevant literature, monitoring competitors activities, networking with experts and attending both local & international conferences
Ensure ad hoc management of competitors complaints in specified ta/products together with other relevant medical, marketing and compliance functions in mc
Keep working level of knowledge in general medicine, health care systems, evidence based medicine, pharmacovigilance, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacoeconomy and outcome research
Contribut to local clinical investigation program – to identify new opportunities , to prepare, implement and follow up on non-interventional studies, patient registries, investigator initiated studies, pharmacoepidemiology trials and other medical-marketing projects related to specific ta/products
Cooperate with local crr-cee operations to help to ensure medical science optimisation of site selection across territory
Medically qualified - university degree (graduate level) in medicine, pharmacology, natural or health sciences. Postgraduate degree in those areas or in business administration is an advantage.
Clinical experience (even in non physician positions, i.e. dept. of biochemistry) is an advantage.
Minimum 3 years of marketing or sales or medical affairs or clinical development experience.
