Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a number of P6 project planning vacancies (at all levels) across major UK Defence, Nuclear New Build and Nuclear Decommissioning frameworks.
Support planning team providing advice and guidance.
Assist Project Managers & Project Engineers with plans for tenders
Lead and develop programmes of work for the project.
Provide planning input to estimating and tendering activity on assigned projects, so that all relevant issues, actions and risks are understood and accounted.
Support the Risk Manager in highlighting both the dependencies and the interfaces between stakeholders.
Develop base line plan for assigned projects and monitor progress against this plan, so that any problems are recognised and notified promptly.
Report on progress and earned value, to support financial forecasting and any necessary corrective action.

Significant relevant experience, typically over 5 years, in project planning,
Provide advice and guidance to less Senior Planners in structuring of the project programmes in Primavera P6.
Assist Project Managers & Project Engineers with plans for tenders.
Lead the use of Engineering Operating Instructions to develop programmes of work for the project.
Provide planning input to estimating and tendering activity on assigned projects, so that all relevant issues, actions and risks are understood and accounted.
Support the Risk Manager in highlighting both the dependencies and the interfaces between stakeholders.
Develop base line plan for assigned projects and monitor progress against this plan, so that any problems are recognised and notified promptly.
Report on progress and earned value, to support financial forecasting and any necessary corrective action.
Ability to Prioritise own work to ensure that functional project requirements on scope, time and cost are met.
Work with the client’s values to ensure that work complies with all necessary corporate, departmental and legislative requirements and procedures, to guarantee that the necessary consistency and quality of delivery is maintained.
Provide coaching and guidance to less senior members of the team
Commercial awareness.
Bachelor’s degree an advantage, but not essential.
A QCF qualification in Planning/ Project Controls an advantage, but not essential.
Experience with financial or cost management software.
Advanced Excel skills.
