Job Description

Position: Land Manager - Renewable Energy Developer

Location: Hybrid role - 1-2 days in office, remainder remote, with significant travel involved.

Salary: DOE + bonus + benefits

We are excited to be working again with a well-established renewable energy developer with a growing portfolio of energy infrastructure assets across the UK. Their projects include solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS). With over 2GW of projects in the pipeline and significant capital raised, our client are poised for substantial growth, and they are seeking a dedicated Land Manager to join their Development Team and lead critical aspects of site finding and land agreements.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess sites suitable for BESS and solar projects.
  • Develop land lease/acquisition strategies for greenfield projects, existing projects, and acquisitions.
  • Serve as the primary internal liaison with landowners during the site origination process.
  • Provide regular project development phase updates to landowners.
  • Negotiate and secure easements/leases for BESS and solar development, along with related agreements.
  • Work closely with the legal team to ensure accurate and comprehensive agreements.
  • Collaborate with the project development team throughout the development process.
  • Manage the land portfolio by maintaining communication with landowners to advance projects to "shovel ready" status.
  • Stay informed about relevant regulations pertaining to battery and solar project development.

Skills and Experience:

  • BA in real estate, surveying, rural enterprise, or land management (preferred)
  • Background in energy development (preferred)
  • Understanding of the project development process is advantageous.
  • Ability to initiate contact via cold or warm leads.
  • Familiarity with the planning system as it pertains to energy developments.
  • Passion for renewable energy development and an established network within the industry.
