Land Compensation Surveyor

As a Land Compensation Surveyor, you will need to deliver a high-quality service to our project teams and represent the business with affected landowners, occupiers, and their agents. You will be expected to be the principal point of contact through all stages of allocated schemes and provide expert advice internally and externally to inform scheme design and implement land entry and acquisition strategies to optimise success.

**What you'll do**:
Reporting to the Land Compensation Manager, in this role you will:

- acquire land and rights on behalf of the business
- prepare and issue Statutory Notices under the Water Industry Act 1991
- negotiate and settle statutory and non-statutory compensation claims
- ensure the company follows land entry best practices and statutory procedures for land entry and compensation
- negotiate and agree on various licenses and agreements
- agree and advise on accommodation works and reinstatement.

**What you'll need**:
You will have a further or higher qualification in land/rural estate management, together with at least five years of relevant experience. Membership to RICS or CAAV is beneficial but not essential if suitable experience can be demonstrated.

To be successful you will be confident, with excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to negotiate and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels, from landowners, tenants and their agents and members of the public to engineers and contractors.

You will have good knowledge of current legislation, statutory requirements and best practice, allowing you to provide specialist up-to-date advice.

This role is based at our head office in Bath but travel across our region will be required, therefore you need to hold a valid driving licence, and a car allowance will be provided in this role.
