Certara provides high-quality, regulatory-compliant pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) analyses and modeling for regulatory submission packages. With the largest global team of PhD, PharmD and MD consultants, we leverage quantitative methods to build a comprehensive knowledge-base of drug discovery, pre-clinical, early-phase clinical, literature, and competitor data, which can be used to optimize decisions, including the “go/no go” that will lead to commercial activities.
We have an immediate opening for a Research and Development (R&D) Operations Manager to assist with the smooth execution of R&D activities in the Simcyp science team directly reporting to Senior Vice President of R&D. The role is responsible for monitoring, coordination, arranging logistics , process analysis and improvement around various R&D activities conducted by the PBPK science team (currently contains ~60 people).
Qualified candidates will have experience working with sizable team of scientists, involved in R&D activities, product owners, business and support teams as well as external contacts and clients. The candidate should have a reasonable appreciation of research and development activities specifically related to developing innovative products and services.
Ideal candidates will have a degree level scientific qualification and several years of experience in research operation management.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and monitor project plans and schedules and communicate these to all relevant stakeholder
- Document progress and holdups/deviations on a weekly basis
- In close collaboration with teams and project leads, coordinate the work of scientists ensuring any delays are minimised
- Identify and highlight project risks and communicate them to management
- Assist in the development of appropriate metrics to measure progress
- Have high attention to detail, strong organizational skills and a flexible approach to work
- Liaise with relevant areas and functions across the company and external parties required
- Identify and implement process improvements to ensure more effective program execution
- Assist in developing appropriate metrics to measure project progress.
- Adapt flexibly to changing work requirements and assist with implementing process changes
- Work with the software developer project managers to ensure efficient project delivery
- Provide training to the Science team on project management tools
Qualifications
- University degree level, in a relevant discipline with several years of practical experience
- Experience with research and development activities with some understanding of software/product development lifecycle
- Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, SharePoint and other relevant tools, familiarity with Azure DevOps will be advantageous
- Ability to clearly communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences
