SLT at the school are seeking a dedicated and organised Attendance Officer to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and improving student attendance, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to benefit from the full educational experience offered by the staff at school.

You will work closely with students, parents, and staff to address attendance issues and promote a culture of regular and punctual attendance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor daily attendance records and follow up on unexplained absences.
  • Maintain accurate attendance data and produce reports for senior management and external agencies.
  • Liaise with parents and carers to address attendance concerns and provide support where needed.
  • Work with pastoral staff to identify and address barriers to regular attendance.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve overall attendance rates.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and school policies regarding attendance.
  • Attend meetings and provide input on attendance-related matters.
  • Promote a positive culture of attendance within the school community.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using computer software, including Microsoft Office and school management systems.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
