About the Role

We have an amazing new opportunity to join our planning and resource management team, reporting into the Integrated Controls Manager within our Asset Programme Management Office (PMO). This role is essential to realizing our National Leader ambitions, and we are looking for a motivated governance and change professional with direct experience of working in a fast-paced Programme Office (PMO) environment.

You will be responsible for managing the resource planning function within the PMO, ensuring timely and accurate information relating to staff utilization is available to stakeholders. Your main tasks will include:

  1. Undertaking regular reviews of the supply, demand, and capacity of the portfolio for hotspots
  2. Ensuring accurate allocations for BAU projects and tracking actual time spent
  3. Working with the Project Management community to build internal resource profiles for pre-approved projects
  4. Performing resource scenario modeling to inform Business Case development
  5. Developing outputs to clearly communicate the supply and demand of resources to senior management

You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of the planning function to help embed better ways of working and support the PMO in influencing delivery through developing and maintaining professional, open, and honest working relationships across Northumbrian Water.

About You

We are looking for someone with proven experience in resource planning in a portfolio-programme-project environment, along with a good understanding of schedule management and capacity/utilization management. You should also have experience with Microsoft packages and a strong attention to detail and data management.

About Asset Management & PMO

The Assets Directorate understands the health of our assets, invests wisely, and maintains them to provide safe, reliable, and resilient services to our customers. We have launched an ambitious transformation program to drive a real step change in how we deliver our capital projects, requiring the development of a high-performing PMO providing impactful performance reporting, estimating, schedule and risk management, and governance.

The overarching objective of the transformation program is to transition to an entirely in-house model for the PMO.
