Quality Technician

EMBS Engineering is in partnership with a precision engineering company located in Northampton that is a leading specialist in the manufacturing of precision-engineered components. Due to our client's increased workload, they are looking to expand their inspection department and are therefore looking for a Quality Technician - CMM Programmer/Operator to join their growing team. Due to the nature of the work & industries supported within this position, candidates may be subject to requiring security clearances, therefore, our client is unable to support visa applications from residents outside of the UK. Only applications meeting this criteria will be considered. Responsibilities will include;
- Running CMMs using PC DMIS software
- Liaison with other departments such as manufacturing, quality, engineering, and sales to ensure delivery of conforming products
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Manual quality inspection
- Strong quality inspection background
- Experience programming and/or setting & operating using PC DMIS Software
- Ability to perform inspection activities (both visual and dimensional) using manual measuring equipment
- Experience of carrying out First off and Final Inspection
- Confidence identifying non-confirming products
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Understanding of ASME standards and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communications skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Ongoing contract (minimum 3 months)
- Rates of pay competitive and are negotiable depending on level of experience;
- CMM Operator starting from £26 per hour
- CMM programming starting from £34 per hour
- Umbrella inside IR35
- Days/Afternoons, - Negotiable start and finish times between 10am-12pm to 7pm-9pm
