Baseimmune is a discovery stage biotechnology start-up focused on revolutionising vaccines through advanced computational antigen design. Founded by the team that pioneered computational vaccines at the Jenner Institute University of Oxford, our mission is to harness the fields of data science, machine learning and computational biology within a multi-disciplinary team to redefine cross-protective and mutation-proof vaccines.

We are seeking an experienced laboratory technician to join our R&D team. As lab tech, you’ll have a range of responsibilities to support activities in the lab and research, including lab housekeeping tasks, maintaining cell cultures, supporting in vivo workflows and support on basic molecular biology experiments.

This position provides a fantastic opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a growing biotechnology company.

Lab Operations
Day-to-day lab housekeeping responsibilities (e.g., facilitating cleaning and sterilisation of glassware, supporting with waste management, coordinating regular cleaning of the lab spaces)
Managing lab databases
Manage stocks and consumables in the lab, including preparation of reagents and buffers
Ordering lab consumables and receiving deliveries
Contribute to good health and safety practices in the lab, including writing and reviewing risk assessments

Research Support
Provide support on other routine experimental workflows in the lab
A degree in a relevant life sciences field, e.g., Masters or a BSc in life sciences
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a research laboratory, ideally with some experience in industry or a biotechnology company
Experience and knowledge of basic molecular biology techniques, for example PCR
