Job Description:

An excitingopportunity has arisen for a Business Support Administrator within the North Devon Liaison Psychiatry team based at North Devon District Hospital. We are seeking an enthusiastic highlymotivated administrator with excellent IT, communication and organisationalskills. You will be required to use your own initiative and have the ability toprioritise work, whilst working calmly and confidently under pressure to meetconflicting demands. We will support you to learn and maintain the skills youneed to thrive in the role.

LiaisonPsychiatry is the interface between psychiatry and medicine, assessing patientsin the general hospital. The multi-disciplinary team is made up of a consultant,junior doctors, nurses, social workers, health care assistantsand, most importantly, amazing administrators. The team work in a fast pacedbut rewarding environment.

This job is part time (15 hours per week). You are welcome to come and visit the team to find out more about the role. Please note that this role is office based.

Main duties of the job

You will be supportedby the Business Administrator to provide a comprehensive administrative supportservice for the multi-disciplinary team. The main duties of this role are:

  • First point of telephone contact
  • Taking referrals from the general hospital and entering onto patient electronicrecords
  • Generating assessment letters
  • Inputting complex and sensitive datarelating to people who use our services
  • Arranging meetings and minute taking
  • Managing stock & ordering office supplies
  • Data management/quality
  • IT support
  • Supporting the clinical staff inadmin processes

Person Specification Qualifications
  • NVQ3 in administration or equivalent level administrative knowledge and experience.
  • RSA 3 Word Processing or equivalent level of experience in practice.
  • GCSE English or equivalent.
  • ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) or equivalent.
Knowledge and skills
  • Intermediate IT skills in Microsoft Office Packages, ie Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to work under pressure.
Experience
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and adapt to change when required.
  • Previous experience of working within an administrative or secretarial team.
  • Experience of dealing with confidential and complex information.
  • Previous NHS experience of working in a Healthcare or Social Care administrative setting.
  • Demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Experience of general office routine and filing systems.
  • Ability to take accurate formal and informal minutes.
