Hays Global Senior Strategy Consultant

The Opportunity

We are looking for Senior Strategy Consultant to join our global team in London and take lead on the day-to-day coordination of a programme of strategic initiatives within the Talent / Recruitment space.

You will be responsible for coordinating a portfolio of strategic priorities, projects and initiatives across different regions and functions, supporting the global executive leadership team, project managers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and integration of project activities and deliverables. This is a unique opportunity to step into the heart of our global strategy and work with our Executive team to support the delivery of critical and transformative projects, getting an insight first hand to the direction of the business.

What can I expect day to day?

Your goal is to ensure transparency and collaboration across various initiatives and transformation activities so that they are delivered on time, in scope, and in alignment with the global strategy. You will also be responsible for identifying challenges, risks, issues, and changes across strategic programmes.

You will act as an advisory to the business and the Global Head of Strategy on key findings sharing these in a collaborative way to support business engagement.
This role will test a varied range of skills and the goal of the role is to monitor a portfolio of strategic initiatives, analyse strategic KPIs and their developments over time and tracking the progress of implementing our new strategy.

This will include:
Support the Executive team in developing the overall strategic goals of the organisation and facilitate the support mechanism of rolling this out.
Monitor and report on the portfolio of strategic initiatives, identify interdependencies, risks, and changes, while ensuring critical paths remain visible
Apply project management methodologies using the correct tools to ensure a smooth management of a variety of initiatives and projects in flight.
Conduct conceptual work and analysis on strategic initiatives and KPIs, incl. their development over time and advice senior management accordingly.
Conduct research, analysis, and benchmarking on various topics and issues related to the global executive leadership team's interests and responsibilities.
Facilitate senior management meetings by developing and documenting strategic documents, presentations, and decision proposals

What you'll need to succeed

It’s so important to be someone who thrives in change, stays calm whilst managing multiple priorities and is a commercial thinker who can identify critical information and communicate it effectively. Being an individual who can effectively manage stakeholders in a collaborative way to drive change and innovation will also be critical to the success of the successful individual. You may demonstrate this expertise from the following:

Ideally the candidate will already have a strong understanding of the Recruitment / Talent Advisory business model
You will have experience as a Management Consultant within the strategy space supporting Talent management businesses
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a PMO environment coordinating multiple projects
Thinking analytically and conceptionally encompassing the holistic view of strategic initiatives and advising leadership accordingly
Experience working with programme management tools to create, organise and manage workstreams
Excellent skills in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel, and can create professional and engaging presentations and reports.
An understanding of collaborating on complex change management projects with multiple priorities and KPIs
Relationship focused with the confidence to build strong internal networks
Conducting strategic research and providing leadership with findings to support the development and direction of initiatives
