We’re supporting our client, a leading global automotive manufacturer based in Telford, who are looking for a Programme Manager to join their growing team. The successful Programme Manager will have experience of strong technical and people skills to manage customer programmes from design / concept stage through installation and commissioning of automated assembly equipment.
The Programme Manager will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of multiple automation and/or manufacturing of casting die inserts/tooling projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards. The role will play a critical role in coordinating cross-functional teams, managing customer relationships, and driving continuous improvement in our project management processes. The scope of the role will be to execute programs, where it will be necessary to use strong technical and people skills to manage customer programmes from design / concept stage through installation and commissioning of automated assembly equipment and/or manufacturing of casting die inserts/tooling.
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders
* Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets, tracking progress and making adjustments as needed
* Through innovation, coordination and teamwork eliminate customer quality concerns, and tooling build process issues to exceed our customer expectations. Act as the main point of contact for customers, providing regular project updates, managing expectations, and addressing any concerns.
* Conduct regular project status meetings and prepare progress reports for key stakeholders
* Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing effective contingency plans when necessary
* Mechanical Engineering Degree / Diploma or Recognized Certificate of Qualification in a Mechanical trade AND / OR minimum 10 years’ experience in automotive assembly / tooling manufacturing environment at commensurate level
* Demonstrable track record in Programme Management role with excellent project management skills, including the ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams
* Knowledge of GD&T / CMM inspection reports
* Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, Auto CAD and Visual Manufacturing System
* Proficiency in project management tools and software
* Previous people management experience
* Prince 2 or other project management qualification (desirable)
