Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Telford Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and committed Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to become a part of our vibrant school community in Telford. In this position, you will be essential in supporting students with various special educational needs, helping to provide the tailored assistance they need for both their academic and emotional growth. Key Responsibilites:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans that address each student's specific requirements.
  • Help cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Collaborate closely with SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators) and other staff to develop and implement personalized learning goals and interventions.
  • Monitor student progress and behavior, offering feedback to teachers and caregivers as necessary.
  • Support the use of sensory integration and therapeutic techniques when needed.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with individuals with SEN, ideally in an educational environment.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs in their academic and social development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and caregivers.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in managing challenging situations.
  • DBS registered on the Update Service.
