We have an exciting job opportunity for AS400 Developer role at London, UK.

Title: AS400 Developer

Location: London, UK

Duration: Contract

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain AS400 systems, including monitoring system performance, applying patches and upgrades, and managing system resources.
  • Develop, customize, and maintain applications running on the AS400 platform using RPG (Report Program Generator), CL (Control Language), SQL, and other relevant languages.
  • Analyze user requirements and business processes to design, develop, and implement AS400 applications and solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to AS400 applications, systems, and interfaces.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and business stakeholders to gather requirements, define specifications, and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users on AS400 applications and systems.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and technical specifications.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in AS400 administration and development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in AS400 administration and development, including system setup, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in programming languages used on the AS400 platform, such as RPG, CL, SQL, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications (eg, IBM Certified System Administrator - IBM i, IBM Certified Developer - RPG IV) are a plus.
  • Experience with modernization techniques for AS400 applications (eg, web-enablement, integration with other platforms) is desirable
