Job Description

Are you a technically strong qualified accountant seeking a varied role within a highly respected organisation? Looking for an FTC that is varied, interesting and working within a lovely team?

This opportunity will see you join a privately owned, highly entrepreneurial Retail and Wholesale business on a fixed-term contract for a 6 month period. This highly successful business continues to grow, adding new elements to its diverse portfolio and with such a high level of employee engagement, it’s a great time to join the company.

This position sits within the central finance function and will take responsibility for producing the group and financial/statutory accounts for two key group entities. The Group is predominately UK based but there are some international entities.

This role requires a qualified accountant with extensive financial accounting experience, ideally gained within a multi-entity organisation. You will need to be highly organised, have great communication skills and want to work within a dynamic organisation that has a great culture and management team.

This is a 6 month fixed term contract

As part of a team the responsibilities of the role include:

  • Establish and streamline financial processes.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
  • Assist in the preparation and support of audit work.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to provide accurate and timely financial information.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis as required.

Candidate Requirements :

  • Fully Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with a strong technical accounting background in FRS102 for Large UK Companies
  • Proven experience in financial accounting and audit support ideally gained within Retail/Wholesale or similar organisation
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good working knowledge of UK accounting standards and regulations
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Hands on approach, analytical and detail orientated
  • Positive, ‘can-do’ attitude, enjoys problem solving and sees a task through to completion
  • Good team player but also able to work independently
