A rare opportunity has arisen to join the ICB as Head of Contracts (one of three roles) with responsibility for a portfolio of health and social care contracts and a supporting contracting team.

To be successfully appointed to this senior role you will be an established leader, have demonstrable experience of managing internal and external relationships in a complex and challenging contractual environment and resilience for working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to manage competing priorities.

You will have a strong understanding of corporate and financial governance as well as the legal and regulatory framework for procurement to lead the process for contract award and ongoing performance management across a range of providers.

Significant experience of the contracting process gained within an NHS organisation is essential for this role.

Interested candidates are encouraged to make contact and discuss the role with the Assistant Director of Procurement and Contracting.

You will be an excellent leader and have the ability to manage, motivate and develop your own team as well as build and maintain effective working relationships with ICB and partner colleagues.

You will be a confident and effective communicator being able to create business reports and present recommendations to formal meetings or committees as well as negotiate with and influence colleagues and stakeholders.

You will have specialist skills and knowledge to enable you to own your portfolio of contracts and through working with ICB colleagues ensure compliant contract award recommendations are presented to the appropriate decision makers and put in place proportionate contract monitoring arrangements with providers.

You will have a structured and solution-focused approach with attention to both detail and process.

You will have in-depth understanding of the NHS and its relationship with Local Authorities.

NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is responsible for planning and arranging the provision of NHS services to meet the diverse health needs of a population of 1.7 million people. Our area reaches over 1,500 square miles and includes the cities of Hull and York and the large rural areas across East Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.

The ICB is part of the Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership, one of 42 Integrated Care Systems (ICS) across England to meet health and care needs, coordinate services and plan in a way that improves population health and reduces inequality between groups. The Health and Care Partnership comprises of NHS organisations, local councils, health and care providers and voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations.
