Anexciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Head of Building &Engineering (B&E) Capital Programme Management Office (PMO).
Thecore purpose of this role is to provide a robust programme management frameworkto the B&E capital investment programme, which is valued at around £25m perannum.
As Head of B&E Capital PMO, you will provideleadership in helping embed a culture of continuous improvement within theoperational function, embedding the function of the PMO to become an integralpart of the organisations management and assurance framework. leading the B&E Capital PMO team to ensure the programme of workis supported and subjected to appropriate challenge and scrutiny.
Corework will include ensuring that the team has the necessary skills, training,and competences to deliver the B&E Capital PMO portfolio of work; managingthe B&E Capital PMO within budget; and day to day management of ProgrammeManagers.
Within the B&E Capital PMO you will apply bestpractice learning and approaches from other health organisations andnon-healthcare sectors, with freedom to act based on your interpretation ofnational and international guidelines on programme management, advising theorganisation on how these should be interpreted, and implementing asappropriate.

Theprimary purpose of this key role is to support the successful delivery of theTrusts Building & Engineering (B&E) Capital Programme andoperationally manage the BE Capital Programme Management Office (PMO)function.
Therole will provide continuity of leadership and management within the B&ECapital PMO, with respect to the delivery of work streams that comprise theB&E Capital Programme and the development and implementation of newschemes as they are identified.
Accountableand reporting to the Associate Director of Estate Strategy & Development,the post holder will be required to work closely with, and in support of, theTrusts Executive Directors, Associate Directors and Heads of Service(including with Estates & Facilities and within Corporate Planning), andproject delivery teams.
They shall be responsible for thedevelopment, management and co-ordination of programming, reporting, risk,benefits, assurance, and quality standards.
TheHead of B&E Capital Programme Management Office will provide leadership inhelping embed a culture of continuous improvement within the operationalfunctions of the Trust, embedding the function of the PMO to become anintegral part of the organisations management and assurance framework.
Thepost holder shall ideally possess a Programme Management qualification andhave a good understanding of how programmes and projects should beeffectively managed and governed in a capital projects environment,demonstrating the ability to apply such knowledge and experience in a practicalway. The post holder shall demonstrate an ability to work effectively withprogramme and project workstream leads and the wider organisation in order todevelop, implement and maintain systems and procedures.
Success in the role will necessitate the establishment anddevelopment of strong and effective working relationships at all levels of theorganisation, with the ability to challenge and effectively support thedelivery of complex, multifaceted programmes, through the application ofstructured programme management processes and interventions.
Thesuccessful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of theB&E Capital PMO, staff and budget.
leading the B&E Capital PMO team to ensure the programme ofwork is supported and subjected to appropriate challenge and scrutiny.
Corework will include ensuring that the team has the necessary skills, training,and competences to deliver the B&E Capital PMO portfolio of work;managing the B&E Capital PMO within budget; and day to day management ofProgramme Managers.
Demonstration of effective stakeholder management, with an on-going commitment to building and maintaining strong and effective partnerships and collaborations.

Strong commitment to and evidence of continuing professional development.
Project / Programme Management Qualification at Practitioner level or similar (MSP / Prince 2).
Post graduate qualification to masters level or equivalent experience.
Evidence of continuing professional and personal development
Experience of developing and implementing robust programme and project management processes.
Extensive project/ programme management skills and experience using the PRINCE2 project management methodology or similar.
Inspiring confidence and developing highly effective working relationships with colleagues, providing high-quality advice.
Experience of designing skills training resources and delivering training.
MS Office Suite including Excel.
