An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 full time Band 6 Clinical Physiologists (Neurophysiology), in a dynamic and busy department at the regional Neuroscience centre at the New Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB). Neurophysiology QEHB is largely a non-paediatric department with integral involvement in epilepsy surgery program as well as delivering a comprehensive spinal cord monitoring service at the QEHB and The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and Birmingham Children's Hospital.
It is desirable the post holder has experience in some of the specialised techniques the department offers, but training will be given. The applicants should be both enthusiastic and flexible with excellent communication skills to meet the many needs of the department and contribute to service improvement.
There may be a requirement to work away from the main site.
The successful candidates will join a team supported by 5 consultants and a large team of senior physiologists with the opportunity for career development and access to higher education.
BSc Clinical Physiology (Neurophysiology) or equivalent
Perform routine, sleep, ward, intensive care and 24 - hour EEGs independently and to a high quality, according to departmental protocols including annotation of the record as appropriate.
*Record findings as appropriate to the referral and recognise the need for additional testing which may need doing by a senior physiologist or consultant.

BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology or equivalent formal specialist training plus additional training to post graduate diploma or equivalent level of knowledge.

*Knowledge of a full range of physiology procedures.
*Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel.

Experience of Video Telemetry


Able to analyse data and produce high quality and accurate technical reporting of test results.
*Good IT skills, ability to analyse data and produce Word documents.
*Ability to work extended hours as required or flexible hours depending on service needs eg monitoring, EEG'S, Polysomnography PSG'S.
*Able to take part in the on call rota.
*Able to travel across all UHB sites as required.
