**Job summary**:
We are seeking a dynamic, conscientious, highly specialised, Echocardiographer.

We currently perform in excess of 20,000 TTE's per year her at the QEHB alone. You will be based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

We have clinics dedicated to Inherited cardiac conditions, Transplantation and assist devices, ACHD, TOE and Stress echocardiography. This post will allow exposure to a wide range of cardiac pathologies. We have both CP lead valve clinics and TOE. You will be expected to support all services if required.

We require you to be an enthusiastic, motivated, and forward-thinking individual who will help further develop our excellent team.

We will offer support and training to develop you in the areas you find most exciting and challenging. You will be part of a team that offers training and development to trainees.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
You will be proficient in Transthoracic Echocardiography, independently performing and reporting to British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) standards.

The Trust actively promotes the provision of seven-day diagnostic services; therefore some weekend working will be required.

As a senior practitioner in Echocardiography, you will perform a range of highly specialised cardiac ultrasound investigations, including adult transthoracic, contrast (for left ventricular opacification) and bubble study echocardiograms, 3D echocardiograms, Dobutamine and exercise stress echocardiograms, assisting with and potentially performing transoesphageal echocardiograms, as well as Grown up congenital heart echocardiography. You will be trained and assessed in the competencies required to undertake the above procedures. You will be actively encouraged to help develop and train junior staff, but you will be rewarded by senior staff helping you to develop your management skills.

- Degree in Clinical Physiology or equivalent/OTEC/ONC or equivalent in MPPM
- British Society of Echo cardiographers (BSE) accreditation or equivalent
- Meet requirements of RCCP voluntary register
- Evidence of CPD and attendance at relevant meetings

**Experience**:

- Evidence of an in-depth knowledge of the speciality
- Evidence to demonstrate a structured approach to continuing professional development.
- Evidence of an understanding of issues affecting the NHS today, including Government strategy
