The Provision / Home: Children (7 to 17 years)

Home Capacity: 3 beds

Location: Preston

Work Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday 8 am – 4 pm

Service users/YP: EBD

Salary: £48,000 to £57,000 DOE

As a Registered Manager, you'll lead the way in ensuring children and young people receive exceptional care and support. Your goal is to align your approach with the organisation's values, creating a loving and nurturing environment that caters to each child's unique needs.

This is a new service and your role will be to take over from the Operations Managers who set up the home.

Your Responsibilities:
  1. Keep our residential home running smoothly while adhering to relevant legislation, policies, and the Home's Statement of Purpose.
  2. Lead a compassionate team to provide a safe and warm environment where children and young people can build cherished memories.
  3. Create and implement personalised care plans that cater to each young person's specific needs.
  4. Offer guidance and support to your care team, ensuring they maintain the highest standards of care.
  5. Implement evidence-based interventions with the help of the Clinical Psychologists.
  6. Encourage and support young people in engaging with therapies, education, and developing essential life skills.
Your Daily Adventures:
  1. Manage individual and team performance to maintain excellence in service delivery.
  2. Keep a close eye on budgets and expenses while ensuring financial responsibility.
  3. Cultivate positive relationships between the care team, young people, and other stakeholders.
  4. Maintain a high standard of the living environment.
  5. Ensure all recorded information in the young person's home meets statutory requirements and remains of high quality.
  6. Collaborate with internal and external professionals and commissioning authorities to meet the care needs of young people.
  7. Ensure clinical practices and medication processes align with legal regulations.
  8. Oversee daily routines and programs for young people, following care plans consistently.
  9. Handle home budgets, transportation, timekeeping, sickness, and annual leave.
  10. Complete Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 audits/reviews on a monthly and six-monthly basis.
  11. Offer support in our out-of-hours assistance system.
  12. Manage team schedules, monitor training, and coordinate and attend care team meetings, providing minutes.
  13. Develop COSHH, Risk Assessments, and Health & Safety procedures for your home.
  14. Fulfil other relevant duties as required by your Managers.
  15. Assist Human Resources with interviews.
  16. Lead the induction process for new carers.
  17. Provide monthly supervision to care teams, identify their training needs, and maintain supervision training records.
  18. Conduct annual appraisals for carers.
  19. Attend Home Manager's training and meetings.
  20. Participate in disciplinary procedures.
  21. Provide an annual homes development review report.
  22. Maintain a professional personal appearance, promoting our organization's image.
  23. Continuously develop your skills and knowledge in the role.
