We are looking for a highly motivated QA Engineer to join our development team and help develop our SaaS billing platform Are you the right applicant for this opportunity Find out by reading through the role overview below. To succeed in this role, you will be a team player with a keen eye for detail and a creative problem solver with a “get things done” attitude. Responsibilities Collaborate with others through whiteboarding and pair programming sessions. Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders and customers. Work closely with the Product Owner and engineers to drive quality. Understand and help refine user stories and acceptance criteria. Attend community of practice meetings to drive common test approaches across teams Work with the team to ensure stories and tasks are delivered with appropriate tests. Make suggestions and take action on improving automation coverage.. Write and design test cases with a view towards automation. Execute exploratory tests and log defects. Create automated tests and liaise with teams on best practice and design. Offer constructive feedback to colleagues. Receive constructive feedback with a growth mindset. Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development. Share your knowledge by running sessions and creating supporting documentation. Continuously find ways to improve something, anything, everything: KAIZEN. Experience Required Must Have: Experience in QA and agile testing within a software development team. Formal software testing qualifications. Programming skills ( Java / JavaScript ) and test frameworks ( Junit , Cucumber ). Proficiency with test-driven development ( TDD ) Good-To-Have: BDD Knowledge of and experience of automated CI/CD concepts/processes Experience with modern monitoring and logging tools (AWS, Grafana, Kibana) Experience in testing cloud native solutions ( AWS preferred) Selenium and/or Cucumber Soft Skills: Strong team player with a drive to improve both themselves and the team Eager to help others and share knowledge Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment Experience working on an international scale with a variety of cultures A flexible but organised work style Excellent written and verbal communication in English About Us Strategic Imperatives are recognised as the UK market leaders in fixed line provisioning with award-winning multi-carrier solutions for Local Loop Unbundling, Wholesale Line Rental, Fibre and traditional broadband as well as the channel premier SaaS billing platform.
