Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with others through whiteboarding and pair programming sessions.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders and customers.
  • Work closely with the Product Owner and engineers to drive quality.
  • Understand and help refine user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Attend community of practice meetings to drive common test approaches across teams
  • Work with the team to ensure stories and tasks are delivered with appropriate tests.
  • Make suggestions and take action on improving automation coverage..
  • Write and design test cases with a view towards automation.
  • Execute exploratory tests and log defects.
  • Create automated tests and liaise with teams on best practice and design.
  • Offer constructive feedback to colleagues.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development.
  • Share your knowledge by running sessions and creating supporting documentation.

Experience Required

Must Have:

  • Experience in QA and agile testing within a software development team.
  • Formal software testing qualifications.
  • Programming skills (Java/JavaScript) and test frameworks (Junit, Cucumber).
  • Proficiency with test-driven development (TDD)

Good-To-Have:

  • BDD
  • Knowledge of and experience of automated CI/CD concepts/processes
  • Experience with modern monitoring and logging tools (AWS, Grafana, Kibana)
  • Experience in testing cloud native solutions (AWS preferred)
  • Selenium and/or Cucumber

Soft Skills:

  • Strong team player with a drive to improve both themselves and the team
  • Eager to help others and share knowledge
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment
