Do you have experience with upstream and/or downstream manufacturing processes in an industry setting? Have you worked within a cleanroom environment? We are currently offering the opportunity for a scientist to join an innovative biotechnology company based in Cambridge. Our client is seeking a new hard-working individual to join their manufacturing team.

This is an opportunity for an individual who holds a BSc / MSc in a Biological discipline.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.

The Role

As a Scientist within the gene / DNA manufacturing team, you will be responsible for:

  • DNA / RNA / gene manufacturing projects within a highly regulated environment,
  • Performing upstream & downstream processing,
  • Manufacturing of synthetic DNA, media prep & maintenance of manufacturing areas,
  • Maintaining QMS documentation & creating / updating SOPs.

Skills and Experience Needed

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Experience working within industry / biotechnology setting (essential)
  • BSc / MSc / equivalent work experience in a biological discipline (essential)
  • Practical experience with upstream & downstream manufacturing processes, such as chromatography, tangential flow filtration (essential)
  • Prior experience working according to quality standards (GMP / GLP / GCP / GDP / ISO) (essential)
  • Understanding / experience of working within a cleanroom laboratory environment (essential)
  • Existing UK work eligibility (essential)
  • Previous experience handling DNA / RNA (desired)
  • Previous handling of documentation / processes within a Quality Management System (QMS) (desired)
