**(Senior) Scientist - Expression Scientist**

**In this role you will be responsible for**:

- Development and implementation of a mammalian-based cell expression platform
- Implementation of a vector platform used for the expression platform - vector design, gene synthesis and molecular biology
- Significant efforts on optimisation and development of these platforms to support the needs of the project teams
- Liaison with the technology development and pipeline discovery team (upstream), project and protein teams (downstream) to ensure product quality throughout the discovery process
- Primary immune cell culture and functional assays
- Establishment, review, and updates of SOPs
- Co-ordination of automation requirements for expression platform
- Precise recording of daily laboratory work
- This role will likely include management responsibilities as the company grows

**About You**
- A Ph.D. (or equivalent experience) in Immunology/Cell Biology/Biomedical Sciences or a similar discipline with a strong cell culture background
- Extensive experience in high-throughput expression platforms, mammalian and other protein expression systems
- Demonstrated experience with relevant analysis software
- Strong practical laboratory experience working with primary and immortalised mammalian cell lines
- Proven experience in immuno-assay design
- Hands-on experience in flow cytometry/sorter operation (desirable)
- Strong at working in a team environment with good collaboration skills
- Skilled in techniques such as ELISA, flow-based binding assays, molecular biology skills (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, library preparation) (desirable)
- Management experience or supervision of direct reports is desirable
