My client is a leading expert in rail infrastructure, covering all aspects from stations to safety-critical operational lineside infrastructure. They’re seeking an experienced Rail Health & Safety Manager to join their team and to support on projects within the industry with an emphasis on Health & Safety Compliance and Project Management.

The role is based at any of their UK offices on a hybrid working model of 2 days per week working in the office, 3 days per week working from home on a permanent staff basis.

Key Responsibilities: Rail Health & Safety Manager

- Implement and oversee SHE practices, maintaining robust risk and assurance processes.

- Lead safety reviews, investigations, and RISQS assessments.

- Manage fatigue management and working hours.

- Act as Controller of Site Safety (COSS) and oversee Rail policies and procedures.

- Plan and project manage Operational Property Inspections (OPI) work.

- Prepare Safe Systems of Work Planning (SSOWP) for projects.

- Manage various engineering schemes within the Rail Sector.

Key Requirements: Rail Health & Safety Manager

- Demonstrable experience in safety, health, quality, and environment governance in the rail industry.

- Strong understanding of UK and European legislative frameworks.

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.

- Membership of IOSH would be preferred.
