Job Title:* Biomedical Scientist

Grade:* Band 6
*Ward/Dept:* Analytical - Biochemistry - Blood science
*Location:* Countywide, The Alexandra Hospital, Woodrow Drive. We are looking for exceptional colleagues who can help us achieve this. The Biochemistry department at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals offers a wide range of diagnostic testing facilities at both Worcester Royal Hospital and The Alexandra Hospital.
The Department is UKAS accredited and is recognised by the IBMS for HCPC pre-Registration and Specialist Diploma training in Clinical Biochemistry. The department supports both acute hospital sites and so provides a 24/7 service in which the successful candidate would be expected to take an active part once training is completed.
*Perform manual laboratory procedures such as precision pipetting, reagent preparation and complex analytical procedures.
· Undertake technical validation of complex results from laboratory investigations to ensure accuracy and precision as specified by laboratory protocols.
· To be able to calibrate, maintain, operate and troubleshoot expensive and complex hardware and software.
*Registration with HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist
· At least two years post registration experience in all aspects of a Biochemistry Laboratory
· Accredited BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science or equivalent
· Experience in all aspects of routine Clinical Biochemistry
