Job Title: Part-time SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)

Contract Type: Part-time, 4-month fixed-term contract with possible extension

Hours: 2 full days and 2 half days per week

Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-time SENCO to join our team on a fixed-term contract basis. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to thrive within our nursery environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SENCO looking to make a positive impact on the lives of young children and their families.

Act as the designated SENCO, providing support and guidance to staff in identifying and meeting the needs of children with SEND.
Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for children with SEND.
Monitor the progress of children with SEND, making adjustments to support strategies as necessary.
Provide training and support to staff members to enhance their understanding of SEND and inclusive practice.
Collaborate with outside agencies and professionals to access additional support and resources for children with SEND.
Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in SEND provision.Relevant qualification in Early Years Education or a related field (minimum Level 3).
Previous experience working with children with SEND, ideally within an early years setting.
Strong understanding of SEND legislation, policies, and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
The contract is for a part-time position, consisting of 2 full days and 2 half days per week.
The initial contract is for 4 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and nursery requirements.
