Bradford, United Kingdom Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Bradford Neonatal service is a well-established 31 cot NICU and 9 cot Transitional Care Unit providing care for both infants born locally and those from across the wider Yorkshire & Humber region requiring specialist high quality support.

We have had a number of recent successes in developing a large education team, perinatal palliative care support and specialist infant feeding nurses so now is a really exciting time to be part of team Bradford. We are now in a position to develop the Special Care area of our unit and we are looking for nurses with a passion for this area to provide a consistent level of coordination in the area along with ensuring patient flow is safe, appropriate and timely. The successful candidates will lead nurse led ward rounds, and provide enhanced levels of hands on support and education to colleagues around all aspects of special care and discharge.
The post-holder will be responsible for daily running of the special care area of the neonatal unit including supporting and developing junior colleagues, planning, implementing and evaluating plans of patients care and ensuring families get a high quality experience in the Neonatal Service. A key purpose of the role will be to support the senior team in ensuring that we have a safe and progressive service that is seen as a beacon of good practice in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

Lead and develop nurse led ward rounds in the special care area and develop/support discharge pathways that will enable improved patient flow, increased safety and a reduction in risk incidents in special care.

To provide specialist advice, support and supervision, whilst working collaboratively with the multi-professional team to provide best care, maximise safety and improved outcomes for neonates and their families. The post holder will enable effective communications and develop personalised care planning within a health professional's scope of practice.

The post holder will work within children's services, based on the neonatal unit. They will be responsible for supporting the work of senior colleagues, the development of junior colleagues and fostering a culture of high quality care for the babies and their families.
Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is part of the West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYAAT), a collaborative of the NHS hospital trusts from across West Yorkshire and Harrogate working together to provide the best possible care for our patients.

By bringing together the wide range of skills and expertise across West Yorkshire and Harrogate we are working differently, innovating and driving forward change to deliver the highest quality care. By working for Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust this is your opportunity to be a part of that change.

WYAAT is the acute sector arm of the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health and Care Partnership, one of the largest integrated care systems in the country. The Partnership's ambition is for everyone to have the best possible health and wellbeing, and the work of WYAAT, and each individual trust, supports that ambition.
