We deliver a local needs-led service ensuring that children and their families are at the heart of what we deliver.This is a development role over 2 years with CPD module linked to Herts University that offers progression to the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse training (Health Visiting/School Nursing). To support health visitors and school nursing in delivering the Healthy Child Programme and Whittington Health Trust (Islington) Health Visiting/School Nursing service specification.To work across the 0-19 service mainly based in the Bright Start Health Visiting skill mix team to improve health and life outcomes for children and families within a defined community through delivering packages of care/support following assessment by the Health Visitor/School Nurse.To participate in the development of intervention pathways, services and health improvement activities.To support the community BCG programme.To work in collaboration with other health care and service providers, including Children Centre's and Early Years to identify and address health needs as part of the wider Islington Bright Start Early Childhood offer.
Bright Start Community Staff nurses will work as part of a health visiting/School Nursing team to support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme from parent's homes, Children's Centres, Schools and Health Centres. We work closely with our key partners in Early Years and in the wider Health arena to provide an integrated service to all families in Islington understanding that together we achieve much more.We provide:o a robust induction programme and a comprehensive preceptorship framework programme to support newly qualified staff.o regular management and clinical supervision.o regular perinatal consultations, multiagency meetings, safeguarding supervision, Clinical Professional Development forums and Integrated meetings with our partners.o A robust internal and external training package which includes promotional guide training, the UNICEF infant feeding training, PNMH training (iHV), SLT training, leadership and other HEE funded courses.o A well being package recognising that we need to support you to keep you well so you can support those you work with.

Demonstrate an understanding of safeguarding children
