About the Role

The Head of Pricing will lead the development of our pricing strategy and the performance management of our portfolio, helping us to achieve our long-term business objectives whilst ensuring we provide value to our customers and meet the financial requirements of our insurer partners

How will you do this?

You will oversee and champion the use of analytics to drive action to maximise return on investment across the business, whilst delivering profitable results for capacity providers in line with target loss ratios.

You will develop a pricing business plan and strategy, identifying, and sponsoring new innovations including the continued development and maintenance of technical pricing models. You will keenly track the past and project the future underwriting performance of the portfolios (via a framework of Management Information), recommend short term and long-term changes and play an important role in the consideration and deployment of new opportunities. Interaction with our insurers is a key part of the role, both in terms of discussing past performance and shaping the future of our partnerships.

Our aim is grow the Pricing Team - therefore it is essential you are able to develop an excellent team through effective recruitment, training, coaching, and mentoring. Setting the highest possible standards of behaviours in managing risks and maintaining a high-performance ethic.

About you

  • Dedicated to analytical excellence with a track record of using statistical technical modelling techniques
  • Strong experience in managing the underwriting performance of a Personal Lines portfolio
  • Ability to combine pricing expertise and commercial acumen to deliver commercially pragmatic outcomes, which optimise the P&L
  • Proven history of delivering transformational change in a fast-paced environment
  • Expert communicator effectively building trusting relationships by understanding and meeting expectations of key internal and external stakeholders
  • Considerable experience of working in the insurance industry
  • Constantly developing your knowledge and skills and keeping up to date with emerging data and pricing techniques, legal and market developments.
