You will manage and maintain a pipeline of high value, focused purely on new business to deliver profitable growth for the Industrial and Commercial division.

Your core responsibilities

  • Explore, identify and manage new business tendering opportunities in order to secure and grow the business.
  • Effective promotion of the ‘The Biffa Model’. Using most appropriate features & benefits based on clients’ needs and matching with a tailored solution.
  • Develop new business relationships and successfully managing the sales process, through lead generation, sales presentations, proposal solutions, negotiation, close, and handover to the account management team
  • Responding to tenders and requests for information in a timely manner. You will effectively interact with other departments including the account management and internal teams when handing over new customers ensuring you fully and correctly brief in all aspects of the sale
  • Manage sales prospects (client average order values circa £500k) with a minimum overall sales pipeline value of £15 to £20 million

Our essential requirements

  • Over 3 years’ experience in a comparable field-based B2B business development role
  • Proven track record in sales, selling contracted services worth a minimum of £500,000 per annum
  • A charismatic communicator with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels
