Title: Azure Business Intelligence Developer

Location: Hybrid - 2/3 days North West Leeds

Salary: Up to £50k - £65k + Package



Forsyth Barnes is recruiting on behalf of one of the UK's fastest-growing commercial energy suppliers. We are seeking a talented Azure Business Intelligence Developer with a strong focus on Power BI to join their dynamic IT team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on business operations and strategic decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and manage advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards, and BI solutions using Power BI and Fabric.
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into the BI system.
  • Design and create interactive, user-friendly dashboards and reports in Power BI.
  • Collaborate with business analysts to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Build data models and schemas to support efficient querying and data retrieval.
  • Perform complex data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Work closely with business analysts, stakeholders, and team members to understand business needs and objectives.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI functionalities and best practices.
  • Optimise Power BI dashboards and reports for performance and scalability.
  • Implement best practices for data management, data quality, and governance.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all BI solutions, including data sources, models, and reporting structures.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot BI solutions to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Provide timely resolution to technical issues and user queries.


Technical Skills:


  • Proficient in Power BI, including DAX and Power Query.
  • Experience with Fabric or similar data integration platforms.
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of analysing complex data sets and providing actionable insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with business analysts and other team members.
  • Experience in gathering and translating business requirements into technical solutions.


Professional Experience:


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar BI developer role.
  • Proven track record of developing and deploying BI solutions in a business environment.
  • Experience in the UK Energy Supply or Utilities industry is advantageous.
