Forsyth Barnes is recruiting on behalf of one of the UK's fastest-growing commercial energy suppliers. We are seeking a talented Azure Business Intelligence Developer with a strong focus on Power BI to join their dynamic IT team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on business operations and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards, and BI solutions using Power BI and Fabric.
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into the BI system.
- Design and create interactive, user-friendly dashboards and reports in Power BI.
- Collaborate with business analysts to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Build data models and schemas to support efficient querying and data retrieval.
- Perform complex data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Work closely with business analysts, stakeholders, and team members to understand business needs and objectives.
- Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI functionalities and best practices.
- Optimise Power BI dashboards and reports for performance and scalability.
- Implement best practices for data management, data quality, and governance.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all BI solutions, including data sources, models, and reporting structures.
- Monitor and troubleshoot BI solutions to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Provide timely resolution to technical issues and user queries.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Power BI, including DAX and Power Query.
- Experience with Fabric or similar data integration platforms.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Capable of analysing complex data sets and providing actionable insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with business analysts and other team members.
- Experience in gathering and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar BI developer role.
- Proven track record of developing and deploying BI solutions in a business environment.
- Experience in the UK Energy Supply or Utilities industry is advantageous.
