The Role:

As the Head of Head of Construction and Projects at TRG Concessions, you will report to the CEO and be responsible for all construction matters across the TRG Concessions estate. This will range from delivering a first class reactive maintenance and asset management service through to the project delivery of multiple large scale restaurant developments across numerous UK Airports.

You will lead and motivate a dedicated property team, split across facilities, and project management, together with a number of existing external consultants including an outsourced maintenance provider and a variety of project management specialists.

The role will have full accountability for all construction and maintenance aspects of the Concessions estate and you will be integral to the ongoing growth of the business in what is a fast paced and dynamic trading environment.

Key areas

  • Full responsibility for the restaurant refurbishment and new site development pipeline from project inception through to completion. This will involve working closely with our internal Business Development Team and our external franchise partners in supporting new and existing contract tenders with the initial realisation of design briefs and the provision of cost & programme plans to support the competitive bid process.
  • The on site project management of multiple construction projects through a principally external consultant team. This will involve highly effective communication with and management of multiple stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered to plan and budget in what is a complex construction environment.
  • Leading the delivery of the restaurant maintenance service into all UK restaurants through an internal FM team and with the support of an external maintenance helpdesk provider. The delivery of the critical operational maintenance KPI’s within a fast paced airport trading environment is a priority for the role together with a strict adherence to exceptionally high Health and Safety requirements as would be expected of airport locations
  • The leadership of and partnership approach to the full construction supply chain including maintenance and new build project contractors as well as the full property asset supply chain. Working with our specialist teams to drive innovation and efficiency across all aspects of restaurant operations including layouts, equipment and sustainability initiatives

Skills and abilities

  • Extensive relevant property experience within a large, multi-site organisations preferably with direct airport construction experience.
  • A demonstrable and thorough knowledge of managing complex and numerous building projects, together with managing and implementing property maintenance, processes and procedures.
  • Proven track record of leading, developing and inspiring skilled teams to achieve continuous improvemen
  • Ability to compile, review, control and implement budgets.
  • Working knowledge of all relevant Health and Safety regulations and practices.
  • Excellent planning and organising skills.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Methodical with attention to detail.
  • Sound commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a positive attitude to problem solving
  • Proactive and self motivated,with the ability to work autonomously and also within a team.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
