Main Purpose of the Role: As the Head of New Product Development, you will be at the forefront of our innovation efforts, responsible for the development and execution of a robust NPD strategy that aligns with our brand’s vision. Your role will span across supplements, skincare, and haircare categories, focusing on creating products that not only meet consumer demands but also set new trends in the market. From ideation to launch, you will oversee the entire product development process, ensuring that we stay ahead of the competition by delivering innovative, high-quality, and compliant products. You will collaborate cross-functionally with teams from product management, marketing, operations, and regulatory compliance to ensure seamless execution.

Key Responsibilities:
- Innovation & NPD Strategy Development:
- Design and implement an NPD stage-gate process that fits our organization's size and agility.
- Partner closely with product management to align innovation strategies with brand objectives and develop complementary NPD roadmaps.
- Lead the innovation process from concept to market, ensuring the strategy translates into tangible product launches that meet market needs.
- Product Pipeline Management:
- Take ownership of the entire product development pipeline for supplements, overseeing all stages from ideation through to product launch.
- Ensure a consistent flow of new, innovative, and profitable products that meet evolving market trends and consumer needs.
- Foster a culture of creativity and experimentation within the NPD team, staying ahead of emerging trends and identifying growth opportunities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including brand marketing, operations, and regulatory affairs, to ensure efficient product development and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure seamless product launches by facilitating effective communication between departments and ensuring all stakeholders are aligned on product goals and timelines.
- Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all products comply with local and international regulatory standards (e.g., FSA/FDA) and maintain the highest levels of quality assurance.
- Oversee product safety and efficacy testing, ensuring compliance throughout the product lifecycle, from concept through to post-launch monitoring.
- Leadership & Team Development:
- Lead and develop a high-performing NPD team by setting clear performance goals, providing ongoing feedback, and conducting regular performance reviews.
- Recruit and nurture top talent within the NPD function, supporting the team’s personal and professional growth.
- Skincare & Haircare Product Development:
- Provide strategic oversight for skincare and haircare product lines, collaborating with internal teams to identify and develop innovative products.
- Offer technical expertise to ensure the development of high-quality products that meet both consumer expectations and regulatory requirements.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in science, business, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in product development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the health, beauty, or wellness industry.
- Proven track record of developing and launching successful products, particularly in supplements, skincare, or haircare.
- Strong understanding of consumer trends and the competitive landscape in the beauty and wellness industry.
- Skills:
- Strategic thinker with the ability to design and implement innovative product strategies that deliver growth.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and team development skills, with a passion for mentoring and empowering teams.
- Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance and quality assurance processes within the health and beauty industries.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments and work in a cross-functional environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen understanding of financial metrics related to product development.
