Colour Factory:

Colour Factory is a vibrant venue in Hackney Wick, encompassing a nightclub, live music, a food court, and event spaces. Dedicated to cultural diversity and inclusivity, it welcomes everyone, including the LGBTQ+ and POC communities. The venue hosts a variety of events, from local music jams to international acts, fostering a lively atmosphere for all.


Jumbi:

Jumbi, which opened in July 2022 in Peckham, is a popular spot known for its lively atmosphere and dedication to the local community. The name Jumbi refers to a trickster spirit from Caribbean folklore, embodying playfulness and mischief. The venue reflects the rich cultural diversity of the area and offers a space for celebration and connection.


Moko:

Moko, the sister venue to Jumbi, opened in Tottenham in August 2023. It is a hi-fi bar and restaurant celebrating the Afro-Caribbean diaspora. In Caribbean folklore, Moko is a stilt walker character and an Orisha (God) of Retribution, often seen as the Ying to Jumbi’s Yang. Moko serves as a community hub, hosting EP launches, charity nights, book readings, and showcasing local talent.


Job Overview:

We are hiring for multiple roles across our venues, with a primary focus on bar and food trader operations at Colour Factory and a FOH restaurant manager role at Moko Jumbi.


Responsibilities:

- Colour Factory & Jumbi:

- Manage all operations of the bars and food traders, ensuring high-quality customer service and adherence to health and safety standards.

- Oversee inventory and procurement for the bars, and coordinate logistics with food traders using EPOS systems.

- Set and monitor stock levels and gross profit margins for both beverages and food services.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with food traders to enhance the diversity and quality of the food court offerings.

- Organise staffing for bars and assist food traders with their operational needs.

- Engage in daily operations, managing five bars and facilitating operations for five food traders.

- Handle back-of-house operations including staff payroll and PAYE systems.


- Moko:

- Lead the FOH team with a focus on exceptional food and drinks service.

- Serve as the first point of contact for staff issues, resolving them fairly and diplomatically.

- Represent Moko positively in the local community, maintaining strong relationships with customers and businesses.

- Collaborate with the events team to provide accurate quotes and briefs for venue activations.

- Manage handovers with rotating independent chefs, ensuring compliance with food hygiene protocols.

- Efficiently manage your time and that of the team, prioritising service excellence.


Qualifications:

- Significant experience in bar and food service management, ideally within a nightclub or food court setting.

- Proficiency in using EPOS systems for stock and financial management.

- Proven ability to manage diverse teams and achieve financial objectives.

- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to promoting an inclusive and diverse environment.

- For Moko: Experience in food service management and a passion for food and drink service.


Bonus Skills:

- Passion for music and technical knowledge of audio systems.

- Cocktail and mixology experience.

- Stock management.

- Staff scheduling.

- Experience managing bar and security teams in a nightclub setting.

- Barista training.

– Experience in a food court setting dealing with external traders


Work Hours:

- Flexible schedule with significant fluctuations, including potential late-night finishes up to 7 AM and early starts at 9 AM.
