Are you a security expert passionate about safeguarding cutting-edge technology? I'm looking for a Lead Security Engineer to join my client's dynamic team and take charge of their security and compliance initiatives.


This is a hybrid role that would require you to go to the company's Manchester HQ three times a month.


What You’ll Do:

  • Drive Security and Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain robust security protocols, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Lead ISO 27001 Certification: Spearhead our efforts to achieve and maintain ISO 27001 certification, while ensuring ongoing compliance with key frameworks like NIST, ISO, and SOC.
  • Risk Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments, internal audits, and gap analyses to identify vulnerabilities and ensure comprehensive security measures are in place.
  • Security Strategy Development: Craft and execute effective security strategies, providing expert advice on complex challenges within our SaaS cloud-based environment.
  • Continuous Monitoring: Keep senior management informed by monitoring and reporting on the status of security and compliance initiatives.
  • Stay Ahead of the Curve: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, threats, and emerging technologies to keep our security practices ahead of the curve.


What We’re Looking For:

  • Security Framework Expertise: Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards (NIST, ISO, SOC) and their application in a cloud-based environment, with a preference for Azure experience.
  • Comprehensive Security Knowledge: Expertise in risk management, data protection, and implementing security controls and threat management strategies.
  • Hands-On Experience: Significant experience with security tooling, including SAST, DAST, and SIEM, to effectively test and manage security.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess complex security scenarios and make informed, strategic decisions.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to interact with both internal teams and external partners, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Certifications: Industry standard security certifications (e.g., CompTIA, CCSP, CISSP) are a plus but not required.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Experience working with third-party partners for compliance audits, certification assessments, and penetration testing.
