Film Store provides specialist cinematography equipment, crewing, logistics and multi camera support for independent and commercial broadcasters worldwide.

With facilities in London and Bristol we continue to expand and extend our full services within the film and television arena.


PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Warehouse Operations Manager has overall responsibility for the kit operations, vehicles, equipment, logistics and crew. They will have reporting lines from the kit room crew.

Reporting to the Operations Director to ensure continuity and quality assurance on all orders.

They will provide structure, accountability, and guidance on all kit room processes and assume ultimate responsibility for the optimal management of personnel and fleet of vehicles. With a high level of technical proficiency, they will manage all aspects of our service delivery to ensure hires are always of the highest standard.

The role is a key position in terms of safeguarding junior staff welfare and feeding back the needs of the warehouse to company directors.


JOB SPECIFICATION

• Forward planning daily and long-term warehouse operations to ensure exceptional standards of service delivery, leading to customer satisfaction and repeat business.

• Leading on project delivery with the Bookings team to ensure that logistics are efficiently managed, and deliveries and collections are conducted in a timely fashion, to schedule.

• Overall supervision of the daily schedule of drives, collections, dispatches, and pick-ups, as detailed by the bookings team. Ensuring kits are ready on time.

• Performance management and leadership of the kit room team, providing regular training as required.

• Attend weekly management meetings.

• Regular audit and tightening of workflows to ensure efficient process from order to invoicing stage.

• Ensure that any maintenance and testing schedules are carried out.

• Planning staff rotas, managing holiday, absences, on-call, overtime, and location hours.


KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS INCLUDE

• Hires are prepped, dispatched promptly and accurately, and all equipment is of a high standard.

• Client retention is kept high, and the company generates regular repeat and referral business.

• The kit room is organized, efficient and tidy.

• Kit room team are motivated, progressing, and performing to a high standard.

• Kit check in is swift and any issues with breakages/losses are flagged appropriately.

• Ensuring Health & Safety policies are being adhered to in the warehouse.
