Director of Programmes

Wiltshire, United Kingdom IC Resources Full time

This is a rare opportunity to join a well-established, national micro-organisation working in, and on behalf of, the UK electronics and semiconductor industry.

Registered as a STEM charity, this micro-organisation is encouraging young people to enter the technology industry and supporting them once they join. Their growing stature and increased activity means that they now seek to augment their senior leadership team with a proactive, ‘hands-on’ Director of Programmes. Joining a strong, positive and collaborative team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the delivery of the current portfolio of outreach projects and engagement activities.
  • Advocating to and influencing stakeholders, including: companies in the ‘deep tech’ sector, government, universities, secondary schools, and students at undergraduate and secondary school stage
  • Developing new projects or extending existing ones, including fundraising (via charitable organisations, industry partners or ‘selling’ programmes and services)

The successful individual will display: collaborative leadership qualities, high emotional intelligence, the ability to build meaningful and valued relationships with a range of stakeholders, and strong influencing / presentation skills.

Some experience of the education or not-for-profit sector would be ideal, however a range of backgrounds will be considered, including project or programme management within the electronics / semiconductors / deep tech sector.

This is an opportunity to significantly contribute to the long-term health of the UK technology ecosystem, as well as make a lasting, positive impact in the lives of young people from primary school age through to undergraduate level and beyond.

Salary - £55.000, hybrid working, office location - Wiltshire/Gloucestershire border.
