Executive Search: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Family-Owned Healthcare Manufacturing


We are engaged in searching for a Chief Financial Officer for a family-owned healthcare manufacturing company with ambitious expansion plans. Established with a solid foundation, the company is transitioning to a professionally managed, investable entity and aims to double its current £14-15 million turnover, with a strong focus on the U.S. market there is an opportunity to far exceed these numbers. This growth is supported by significant investments in technology and operational enhancements, positioning the company at the forefront of the healthcare manufacturing industry.


About the Role: The CFO will be instrumental in shaping the financial strategy and managing the day-to-day financial operations, playing a key role in the company's evolution. This role requires a strategic leader who is adept at enhancing financial frameworks to support ambitious growth objectives, managing cash flow, leading fundraising initiatives, and preparing the company for potential private equity investment or a strategic exit in the next 3 years.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a financial strategy that aligns with the company’s expansion goals.
  • Strengthen internal controls, enhance financial reporting, and ensure compliance to attract potential investors.
  • Translate recent operational improvements and market expansions into sustainable growth and improved EBITDA.
  • Provide leadership and development to the finance team, setting the stage for potential advancement to more significant executive roles.


Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in financial leadership within high-growth environments, ideally within the private equity sector, manufacturing, or healthcare industries.
  • A strategic thinker who is also hands-on in financial management, capable of detailed financial modelling and forward-looking financial management.
  • Potential to move into broader leadership roles, including MD or CEO positions, with a strong ability to integrate into the senior leadership team.
  • Must be technologically savvy to drive modernisation and embrace next-generation business practices.
  • Understands and navigates the dynamics of a family-owned business environment while advocating for necessary advancements.
  • Must possess a recognised CCAB accountancy qualification or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a senior financial role within PE-backed or fast-growth SMEs,


Industry Experience:

  • Candidates with a background in manufacturing, healthcare, or project-based sectors will be highly regarded.


Compensation and Incentives:

  • A competitive salary in the range of £150k to £200k, complemented by a robust package of long-term incentives such as LTIPs or equity participation, aligned with the company’s growth and exit strategies.
