Reports to: Senior National Account Manager

Main Responsibilities


To manage SLG’s relationship with a variety of UK, European, Middle Eastern and African (EMEA) Customer Accounts across our beauty & personal care AYR brand portfolio. Driving sales and profit growth by working collaboratively with the retailer teams to execute robust account plans. Working cross functionally with internal teams to facilitate successful launch of NPD. Identifying and evaluating new business development opportunities.


The role has a 60% UK and 40% Rest of World (RoW) account split.


Main accountabilities and supporting activities


Under the guidance & direction of the Senior National Account Manager & Head of Global Brand Sales, in the development & execution of the department’s strategy, your responsibilities include:


  • Customer Relationship Management – Building & maintaining strong cross functional retailer relationships. Fostering a culture of trust with excellent communication. Building a strong network of contacts across Buying, Supply, Marketing etc.


  • Business Development – Proactively seeking to drive new business opportunities to deliver incremental sales & profit. Understanding the market landscape, competitor activity and retailer strategies to leverage existing and create new opportunities.


  • Commercial Planning – Building robust commercial account plans for both sales & investment to align with department & brand and country strategy.


  • Sales & Profit – Driving sales & profit growth to deliver annual brand/account sales & profit targets. Maximising account profitability via a thorough approach to cost management & strong negotiation of commercial trading terms and customer pricing.


  • Promotions - Activate pre-approved promotional plans and secure retailer activities such as second sites in line with account plans & budget.


  • NPD – Executing the NPD plans in line with the brand & distribution strategy. Work collaboratively with the brand/marketing team and retailer teams to land all new brand & product launches with optimal distribution and a tailored 360 retailer marketing support plan.


  • Data & Insight – Analysing and evaluating EPOS & market data to gain insight, shape / influence account plans and drive actions.


  • Forecasting – Liaising closely with demand planning and retailer supply teams to create accurate monthly forecasts by customer by SKU. Actively focussed on operational excellence and driving availability to deliver against retailer KPI’s within SLG stock control parameters


  • Internal Stakeholder Management - Interface between the customer & wider SLG team, provide regular comms, updates and sharing of information regarding the customer’s strategy & performance


Qualifications & Experience Requirements:


  • Ideally educated to Degree Level
  • Proven experience within an account management role
  • Experience within an FMCG sales environment desirable
  • Health & Beauty industry experience desirable
  • Mathematically astute with high standard of written and verbal English language
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Appreciation and understanding of key international high fashion beauty and lifestyle markets
  • Evidence of mastering the key selling skills and ability to demonstrate how these have been central to achievements in previous roles
  • Track record of having earned respect and confidence of customer/distributors/retail partners in previous roles
