Accounts Payable Manager Opportunity

Hays Accountancy & Finance is partnering with a rapidly growing technology group to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Manager. This newly created role will lead and manage the AP team across various business units, ensuring timely and accurate payment of supplier invoices, building relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders, and implementing process improvements.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Build, lead, and mentor a centralized accounts payable team, including performance evaluations, training sessions, and skill set development.
  • Oversee the full cycle of accounts payable processes from invoice verification, coding, approval, and payments.
  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers, negotiate payment terms, manage supplier payment schedules, and conduct supplier account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, monitor/report key performance indicators for accounts payable, and assist with cash flow forecasts and budgets.
  • Streamline processes/systems as the group grows further and participate in ad-hoc projects for senior management.
Requirements
  • Experience in a similar position, supervisory and management experience, and a strong understanding of accounts payable practices and principles.
  • Strong MS Excel skills involving data manipulation, pivots, and lookups, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, strong communication skills to build internal/external relationships, and a willingness to challenge processes to improve accounts payable efficiencies.
What We Offer

This permanent Accounts Payable Manager role offers a salary between £35,000 - £42,000 per annum, depending on experience, remote/office hybrid working, contributed pension scheme, discounted gym membership, holiday purchase scheme, on-site parking, employee referral program, health and eye care related benefits, and career progression opportunities.
