Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior UX Designer with exceptional skills in PowerPoint and Figma to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating intuitive and engaging user experiences and a strong eye for detail. As a Junior UX Designer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design user interfaces, create prototypes, and present your ideas effectively using PowerPoint and Figma.


3 Focus areas of the role:


1. Brand design and guidelines: While we have a brand and brand guidelines we are looking for someone to improve on what we have that aligns to Vision of the company. Then take this new standard and ensure consistency across our website, digital product, sales collateral and visual assets.

2 . New product development: We are building a new digital product, you will be lead the design, user interfaces and user journey of this product E2E ensuring that it is consistent with our brand guidelines and delivers an amazing UX.

3 . Client engagement: There will be some client engagement work where we will run design sprints for our clients and you will be with us onsite creating wireframes, prototypes, and interactive mock-ups.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Visual Design: Design user interfaces that are visually appealing and consistent with our brand guidelines.
  • Presentation: Develop compelling presentations in PowerPoint to communicate design concepts and user flows to stakeholders.
  • User Research: Conduct user research and gather insights to inform design decisions.
  • Wireframing & Prototyping: Create wireframes, prototypes, and interactive mock-ups using Figma.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Acend team and product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to understand needs and deliver high-quality designs.
  • User Testing: Assist in planning and conducting user testing sessions and iterate on designs based on feedback.
  • Documentation: Document design processes, user flows, and design decisions.
  • Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with the latest UX trends, tools, and technologies.
  • Digital product design: Lead on the design and roadmap of new digital product for Acend.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in UX design or a related field.
  • Software Proficiency:
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma.
  • Strong skills in PowerPoint for creating professional presentations.
  • Design Skills:
  • Knowledge of design principles, user-centered design, and usability best practices.
  • Experience with wireframing, prototyping, and user testing.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage time effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing your UX design work and proficiency in Figma and PowerPoint.
  • Tools: Familiarity with other design and prototyping tools (e.g., Sketch, Adobe XD).
  • Agile Experience: Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Coding Skills: Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and front-end development (a plus, but not required).

Location:

This is a hybrid role, 1-2 days in an office per week. The candidate must be based in Northern Ireland and able to be in an office in Belfast 1-2 days a week.
