Senior Credit Analyst – Specialist Motor Finance


Our client, a leading specialist finance provider is recruiting for a Senior Credit Analyst in its London underwriting team.


You will be;

  • Support the CCO and Head of Underwriting in achieving business goals through diligent, timely, and comprehensive underwriting, working closely with the wider Credit Management Team.
  • Effective risk-based assessment and compliant decision-making of loan applications, with a focus on complex borrowers and good customer outcomes.
  • Support the Credit Management Team with reviewing and implementing credit and risk strategies, training and knowledge sharing, smoothly implementing changes of policy & procedures, and maintaining high standards of customer service levels.
  • Lead by example with a positive ‘can-do’ approach and help build a cohesive Credit Management team to demonstrate collective expertise, professionalism, and maturity in a dynamic and diverse culture.
  • Analyse, assess, and document compliant credit decisions of loan applications within a robust mandate structure, falling under the Senior Credit Manager mandate level.
  • Provide oversight of credit workflow to help deliver excellent services within SLA’s, escalating any capacity requirements.
  • Monitor Credit KPI’s across the portfolio and consider a balance between returns and risk exposure.
  • Assist with the preparation and reviews of credit reports for management, committees, and nominated third parties.
  • Improve the liaison and communication within the wider Credit Management function, whilst also enhancing working relationships with other internal functions to optimise the client experience.


You will have;


A minimum of 1-3 years of Credit and underwriting experience in secured lending, including motor finance or asset finance

Ability to interpret financial statements, management accounts and individual’s financials to demonstrate a requirement of affordability.

Strong numeracy, data-driven, reporting, and Excel skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to customers, the credit team, and line management.

Highly organised and attentive to detail.

Ability to work under pressure, on multiple tasks and to tight deadlines.
