Key Account Manager

The Role: Working for a long-established business who have a great culture of trust, autonomy, and flexibility. As a Key Account Manager you will be responsible for managing the entire portfolio of garden centres across the UK selling in a brilliant range of garden tools and accessories. This role will see you dealing with the existing portfolio around 40% of the time whereby you will be upselling and introducing new lines regularly as well as doing account reviews etc. The other 60% of your time will be sourcing new business by beginning discussions with new garden centre groups and independents across the UK with a view to introducing your ranges into them as soon as possible.

As this is a national role there will be a requirement for extensive travel and potential overnight stays where needed. However, with this role comes autonomy and trust that you run the UK Garden Centre account base the way you feel is best and the key objective here is to grow those existing accounts and begin to build a new portfolio of outlets for 2025 and beyond

The Company: Our client have been established for over 150 years and are a well-known brand in their market. They are a family owned business and treat their staff as an extension to that. They have put investment into this particular division and have put in some impressive numbers through despite tougher market conditions. They are now looking to really kick on with this brand and bring in a specialist Key Account Manager to capitalise on their foundations.

Requirements: To be considered for the Key Account Manager role you must:

· Have a track record selling to Independent &/or National Garden Centres

· Be a natural relationship builder

· Have an attention to detail & maintain high presentation standards

· Have sold any product that would be sold into garden centres

· Be an effective communicator & negotiator

The Package:

· Basic: £35k-40k DOE

· OTE: £7,000 per year

· Benefits: 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays, Pension, Company Car (Tiguan Level), laptop, mobile
