Our client is a well established, independent diagnostic laboratory providing services to veterinary practices across the UK and worldwide.

Location:

This role is located in Cambridge and is site based.

Role:
  • Performing laboratory tests of various types, to provide high quality and reliable results for reporting to clients under the overall supervision of the Head of Department.
  • Sample reception and identify and prepare samples for analysis.
  • Analysis of samples using RIA/ELISA, PCR and Biochemistry analysers.
  • Use of the Matrix LIMS system and data entry.
  • Maintenance and correct use of laboratory Equipment.
  • Preparation of reagents and reception of stock and reagents.
  • General laboratory housekeeping.
  • Assist with method validation.
  • Environmental/temperature monitoring.
  • Adherence to written Standard Operating Procedures, Quality Controls Health & Safety rules and radioactive procedures as defined by the Environment Agency.

Your Background:
  • Qualification or experience in a scientific environment would be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of the important elements of laboratory diagnostic testing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
